Educating Communities Through

Knowing the
rules for being a
good neighbor
Code enforcement exists not to punish individual property owners, but to maintain the greater good of our community by achieving compliance with adopted codes.
The Code Compliance Program relies on residents in many ways: first to set an example by learning about, and adhering to, the city's codes and second by contacting us when violations are seen.
Call 406.582.222 to speak with a customer service representative or to leave a message regarding your compllaint.
Send an e-mail at qualityoflife@bozeman.net regarding your complaint.
Keep the party legal...Alcohol
Hostiing a party typically means you will be providing food and beverages. If you're inviting underage guests, you assume a huge risk by allowing underage persons to possess or consume alcohol.
Under Montana Law, alcoholic beverages must only be provided for and consumed by persons 21 years of age and older.
Provide non-alcoholic drinks.
If someone appears intoxicated and they drive to the party, arrange for a sober person to take him or her home.
Avoid loud party complaints
Rember to be respectful of your neighbors. Hosts are responsible for the behavior of those attending the party. Loud music or yelling can disturb your neighbor's peace.
Failure to keep the party under control can result in law enforcement responding to your residence. You can be cited for Lound and Unruly Gathering, and the property owner will be notified of the complaint.
